Empowering Tomorrow: InSIC's Solar Ambassador Program Sparks Renewable Energy Enthusiasm

Delhi Public School Newtown Students Engage in Hands-On Renewable Energy Exploration

The International Solar Innovation Council (InSIC) and the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) recently joined forces to host the 6th edition of the Solar Ambassador Program in Kolkata. This transformative initiative, held on April 3rd, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from students of Delhi Public School Newtown, Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in renewable energy education.

 

The program commenced with an engaging session on 'Introduction to Renewable Energy.' Students were immersed in practical experiments, gaining firsthand experience with innovative solar technologies including the Pico Hydro Generator and Solar Sanitary Napkin Vending machine, Solar Pumping System, Solar Water Purification System, Bamboo based solar Garden light & torch light, and explored factors influencing Solar PV Performance.

 

Throughout the day, participants explored various aspects of renewable energy, including discussions on global opportunities led by esteemed personalities such as Prof. S.P. GonChaudhuri and international experts Mr. Pekka Järvilehto, and Mr. Risto Isomaki from Finland.

 

The event also provided a platform for students to provide valuable feedback, shaping the future direction of the Solar Ambassador Program. Volunteers from NBIRT and InSIC played pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the program, demonstrating solar innovations funded by InSIC and coordinating seamless execution.

 

With a focus on hands-on learning and interactive discussions, the Solar Ambassador Program participated by the Delhi Public School Newtown left a lasting impression on students, empowering them to champion the transition towards a sustainable, greener future.
